Somewhere in the middle of the first summer of the pandemic, I began a personal log under the quiet assumption that the world might be ending. Self-portraiture emerged as the most immediate point of entry—a practical exercise in dexterity that rapidly evolved from a casual log into a rigorous, foundational practice. Today, this ongoing visual archive serves as a site of profound personal mutation. The work captures the body not as a static form, but as a territory of constant migration, recording the shifts of an aging female form as it navigates the complex landscapes of reclamation, hard-won sobriety, and structural rebirth.
My work investigates the somatic friction between visibility and sovereignty, exploring eroticism, body dysphoria, and the volatile edge between self-acceptance and destruction. Through the visceral acts of marking, layering, and erasing, I practice a deliberate, metaphoric self-immolation. This is an intellectual interrogation of the flesh—burning away past iterations to map the precise thresholds of survival, autonomy, and grace.
